A Chapter two review took place today. I summarized the chapter and we then played Vocabulary Bingo.
The test is tomorrow. The students may use the vocabulary terms they defined on the test as notes.
I also provided an optional extra credit assignment: Pgs. 69-70 (1-21). This will help them review the chapter too!

Social Studies 8
Presentations were completed today. Hours that finished early got a head start on reading through Chapters 12 (the North) and 13 (the South) in order to compare and contrast the regions. There will be class time for this on Monday and Tuesday of next week.

Students took notes on alternatives to conflict and the seven steps to problem solving. Students were to apply the seven steps of problem solving to an recent conflict. This should be in writing and is due next Monday.

Students finished reading about the cardiovascular system and were to complete study guides for both reading sections: pp. 78-84 and pp. 85-89.
Students will have a test next week,Wednesday, covering the skeletal system, muscular system and cardiovascular system. I encourage students to start studying this weekend.

Students took a pop quiz on muscles and bones identification today. Students are to finish reading pp. 78-84 on the cardiovascular system.

We wrapped up anger management today and discussed three different communication styles. Students should be able to identify behaviors characteristic of each of the communication styles.

We continued to work on The Force of Moving Water and the topic of Glaciers. Tomorrow students have a glacier GRS due.

We continued in the IMC today. The students will continue to work in the IMC the remainder of the week. We are looking to have a rough draft of an inspiration outline completed at the end of either Language Arts or Social Studies tomorrow.

We are completing our presentations on our water erosion lab - they turned out fantastic! We are also moving into the topics of the force of moving water and glaciers.

We are continuing with our in school social studies/language arts research project. We are in the IMC this week continuing to find research/information on each student's topic.

Students finished their quiz. Homework was to finsh the extra-practice worksheet. Odds and story problems are extra credit.

Students worked in their groups to continue evalutating and discussing data on the battles of the Revolutionary War. Evidence was recorded as either supporting or undermining class hypotheses.
