Social Studies 7

Students took a open note quiz on the History readings.

Science 7

Today students turned in the Study Guide for Classifying Rocks. We discussed and viewed a video about the mineral asbestos.

Algebra

Lesson 7.3, pages 414-416, problems 8-44 even, 48, and quiz 1, problems 1-10. Quiz on Monday, February 11th.

7th grade math

Lesson 6-5, page 266, problems 8-20 and 23-29.

Pre-Algebra

Mid-Chapter practice test, page 284. Problems 1-10 and page 630, lesson 6-4, problems 1-6 and lesson 6-5, problems 107. Test, quiz and notes on Tuesday, February 12th.

Applied Math

Pop Quiz today!
Practiced basic facts of multiplication and division.
Work time was given to complete and submit late/missing assignments.

No Assignment for the weekend.


The Math Test has been rescheduled for Tuesday, February 12.

Social Studies 8

Students started reading and outlining Chapter 3 (The English Colonies), Section 1: The Southern Colonies.

Tests will be handed back on Monday.

Literature 8

Corrected our Questions from the Lemon Brown story. Discussed the start of The Pigman. Books were passed out today.
Assignment: Complete a school and parent opinion sheet.

Science 8

Welcome back...I hope you enjoyed the two unexpected snow days this week. As a result the Chapter 1 test has been moved to Monday. We reviewed in class and had time for defining the vocabulary to help you study. Remember all other extra credit is due on Monday as well.

Algebra

Went over the substitution method on solving linear systems. Students were able to find the order pair that satisfied both linear equations. Homework is Extra Practice 7.1 Worksheet, problems 7-18.

Applied Math

Lesson 44: Proportions
We reviewed ratios and how they are related to proportions - 2 ratios connected by an equals sign. Practice problems were completed in class.
Assignment: p. 204 Problem Set 44 - odds

Social Studies 8

In honor of Super Tuesday, we spent today reviewing the candidates and their stands on issues.

French 7

FRENCH CLASSES FOR SEM 2 WILL START ON MONDAY JAN 28. ALL STUDENTS WILL NEED A FOLDER WITH POCKETS AND SOME TYPE OF WRITING TOOL. THEY ARE EXPECTED TO HAVE THEIR SUPPLIES WITH THEM AT ALL TIMES. THIS MEANS ALL PAPERS THAT ARE HANDED OUT DURING THE 18 WEEK COURSE. I DON'T LIKE THEM GOING TO THEIR LOCKER AFTER THE BELL RINGS. SEE YOU IN FRENCH!!! MADAME COE

Language Arts

In language arts, students have been working on an essay following the writing process. They are currently on the revision process and revised their essays today. For the remainder of the week we will be learning and practicing editing techniques. On Friday, students will edit one another's papers. Monday will be their final day in the computer lab to make corrections and turn in their final copies.

Science 7

Mineral Tests were returned today. Students not happy with their grade were encouraged to do a project in order improve their grade.

Chapter 5-Rocks was introduced and a SG for Section 5.1, Classifying Rocks was assigned for Wednesday.

Science 8

Discussed our classification lab activities.
Completed chapter 1 with notes from 1.4 (pages 30-33)
Assignment is to complete the section review worksheet.

Remember that you have a test on Chapter 1 this Friday!
All extra credit is due by Friday too.

Literature 8

We listened to The Treasure of Lemon Brown (pgs. 93-101) and discussed generation gaps.
Complete the "generation gap" review and questions a-e found on page 103 of your Lit. textbook

7th Grade Math

Students took Mid-Chapter 6 test and quiz today. No homework :).

Pre-Algebra

Students learned about congruent polygons. Homework is Lesson 6-5, pages 281-282. Problems 9-23 and 25-30. Mid-Chapter 6 test and quiz is on Friday. Notes are due on Friday.
