Literature 8

Work Day today...
I Am the Cheese...should be read through pg. 43 and review 25-43 finished by Friday
Journal entries 1-4 should also be finished.

Health 8

Students learned about portion sizes and BMI today. Complete worksheet if you did not finish in class.
Assignment: Bring in 5 food labels from your favorite snack foods and beverages. A t least 3 snack labels and 1 beverage label minimum.

Health 7

Students completed test today. Make sure you turn in your parent-signed Human Growth and Development permission slip by Friday.

Social Studies 8

Today students learned that WWI marked the beginning of modern warfare through the use of airplanes, poison gas, and machine guns. WWI also marked the first use of trench warfare. Students learned about the unpleaseant conditions soldiers experienced while in the trenches, then participated in a simulation of trench warfare. Students concluded that trench warfare is an ineffective strategy because it results in a stalemate.

Assignment: Complete the Trench Warfare worksheet - due today in class if finished, otherwise can be turned in tomorrow with no penalty.

Applied Math 7

Test 17 today. No homework.

Applied Math 8

Lesson 7-4: Scale Drawings
Assignment: p. 306-307 #3-22 NO #20
Mid-Chapter Test on Friday.

7th Grade Math

Lesson 10-5, pages 436-437. Problems 10-31 and 35-45. Mid-chapter test, quiz and notes on Friday.

Pre-Algebra

Mid-Chapter Practice test on page 530. Problems 1-15. Lesson 11-4, page 643. Problems 1-24. Test, quiz and notes tomorrow.

Algebra

Chapter 9 review in the back of the book. Problems 2-40 even. Test on Thursday.

Health 8

Students completed an activity Portion Distortion, which identified how we tend to eat larger portion sizes than we need. Students then learned about BMI and the energy balance equation.

Assignment: complete handout and bring in 5 food labels from favorite snack foods- at least 3 of them must be snack foods.

Applied Math 7

Review for Test 17 was done together in class.

Applied Math 8

Social Studies 8

Today students participated in an alliance simulation. Students belonged to different countries on an imaginary continent. Given background information and the goal of keeping peace, students worked to form alliances with other countries, then reacted, based on their alliances, to events that occurred on the continent.

Science 8

Planting of seeds today.
Students also read an article on Propagation of Seeds with questions(DUE at the end of class WEDNESDAY!).
A 3-D project sheet was also passed out so they can begin planning.

Literature 8

I Am the Cheese...read pages 12-24 and complete review/interview 1-3 should be in your journal.

Mrs. Mike...read chapters 2-3 and complete your review.

Health 7

Students are playing a tic tac toe review game for their test on Thursday. Make sure you read over your handouts on alcohol, tobacco and marijuana before the test.
