Applied Math
Students voted on a movie to watch over today and tomorrow. This reward has been earned by hard work and excellent classroom behavior over the last quarter.

Language Arts - 8 (6/9-6/12)
This week there is no vocabulary because vocabulary was wrapped up last week. Monday will be a day to work on the finishing touches of the creative myths. Tuesday, 4th-6th hour will have a convention where all the creative gods, goddesses, and heroes will gather to tell their tales. Wednesday will be the convention day for third hour, so bring your stories, illustrations, and dress-up for extra credit!
Applied Math
Students finished their paper knot and Sierpinski Carpet projects - those students who were already done were allowed to play math games on pre-approved web sites.
Social Studies 8
Students completed and presented their WWII radio broadcasts. We also turned our books in today - no more lugging those heavy things around!

Students who were absent yesterday took their final math tests. Students were assigned 2 projects involving measurement and some creativity due Tuesday.
Social Studies 7
Students worked on the course review today and tomorrow in class. It is due on Monday. The final exam is next Tuesday and Wednesday.

Students were given one more class period (today) in order to complete the Time Period Brochure and Illustrations.

Students viewed an informational WWII video as the beginning of our review. Assignment: start studying for the Chapter 26 test on Friday
Applied Math
Test 18 today - the last test of the year! Students are reminded to bring rulers, pencils, markers, calculators, etc to class tomorrow.

Completed Vertebrate presentations. Fossil and Flight study guides are due Tuesday. Have your Vocabulary Bingo card ready for Tuesday as well. Test on Vertebrates on Wednesday. Frog dissection Thursday!

Fairy Tale Unit...Students need to choose a story to modernize. Work time in class this week. Stories are due on Monday.

The Time Period Brochure and Illustrations are due on Wednesday. Students were allowed time to work on this assignment today in class.
Language Arts - 8 (6/2-6/6)
This week is the last week of vocabulary. Our words deal with the roots "voc" and "clam", meaning "to call out" or "to cry out". Included in the final vocabulary quiz on Friday will be all the roots, prefixes, and suffixes we have done in the past so make sure to review all previous packets. We will also do a review in class.
This week we will continue our mythology unit and work on creative assignments dealing with Greek mythology. Tuesday we will receive pictures of Greek myths and make up a story that we think explains the picture. Wednesday and Thursday we will receive the story of six myths that will be acted out in front of the class. Then, everyone will be responsible for creating a myth of their own.
