Literature 8

The Pigman Test

Assignment: Read The Journey to Meet the Pigman article. Complete the questions for Monday's class.

Science 8

Today we corrected our Chapter 2 review assignment. Conducted a disease transmission lab and made a Bingo card for the review game on Monday. If the students take the time to define all of the Bingo Terms they will be given extra credit.
The Chapter 2 test is on Tuesday

Social Studies 7

A review of the unit on History continued with students taking notes in class. Please note that the recently sent home Progress Report did NOT include the grade for the recently completed History Report! The final grade on the report can significantly change the third quarter grade.

Science 7

Students completed the Latitude and Longitude lab today in class.

Applied Math

8th graders completed Test 11 and extra credit
7th graders had a fraction activity.

8th graders - No homework for the weekend!
7th graders - Complete the Coin Worksheet - due on Monday

Social Studies 8

Chapter 4, Section 3: The Struggle for Liberty - including such interesting things as the Battle of Trenton, the Battle of Saratoga, Nathan Hale, and John Paul Jones.
Students were advised about what to bring on research days - starting Monday. It was also discussed that due to the limited time before spring break and few research days (4 total) it is imperative that students use computer lab time for research. Any other activites will result in a lowered grade for the presentation.
No Homework!

Social Studies 8

Chapter 4, Section 3: The Struggle for Liberty

Students chose topics for their individual presentations. It was discussed that presentation are scheduled to be completed by spring break. Since the 8th grade field trip is the day before spring break, that gives us one less day to prepare. Students were warned that there will be limited computer lab research time (4 days total) so any activity by a student that is not research will result in a lowered grade for the presentation. Students were advised about what materials to bring to class on research days - starting on Monday. No homework!

Health 7

Today in class we went over the test scores from the Communication Unit test. Students who were absent the day of the test will need to come in to take the test during lunch, study hall, or after school.
We began our Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drug Awareness Unit today. We defined drugs, discussed what is classified as a drug and reasons teens choose to use drugs. No homework.

Health 8

Students should be working on their semester health goal and talking with their accountability partners.
Today in class we discussed care for sudden illnesses. No homework.
