Science 7

Today students were introduced to the JASON Project. We will be working on this hands on learning activity for the next 2 weeks.

Social Studies 7

The students continued to work on their speech for tomorrow. If they did not finish in class, then it is to be completed at home. We will start the speeches tomorrow and most likely finish on Friday.

Science 8

Protist lab. We attempted to view microscopic water life...although a bit early in the season...random observations were made. A protozoa packet was assigned.

Literature 8

We corrected the review assignment for chapters 3-4 and read chapter 5 today.

Social Studies 8

Today students were given background information about states' rights. Students had the entire period to read this information and answer 6 questions. The information is higher than 8th grade level reading, so students were advised to read slowly and carefully. Students were encouraged to make notes about parts of the reading they didn't understand. These questions could then be discussed with their group members. It is important for students to fully understand the concept of the states' rights issue in order to participate in the Structured Academic Controversy that will take place over the remainder of the week.
