Science 7

The assignment from yesterday was collected (#13-22) - then we took our knowledge to the computer lab! Students viewed information from http://www.weatherwizkids.com/, where it talked about all of the subjects that we are learning about. It also took them to various links to see how a hurricane is tracked, the # of tornadoes in a certain area, various clouds and more! A student brought in this website and it was great! We also looked at the storm chasers website. There it showed the formation of a tornado (the kids got to form their own) and pictures of the damage caused.

Just a friendly reminder that the next test will be on Wednesday (11/19/08). I've had it on my board and have been telling the kids all week - I've just forgotten to post it. Sorry!

Applied Math 7

Lesson 27: Reciprocals
Assignment: Complete Problem Set 27 using the worksheet guide. This is due Monday.

Applied Math 8

Today we went over Lesson 2-8: Misleading Statistics. Students were given an in-class assignment (due at the end of the hour) of #3-13. We completed #3-8 as a class, and each student needed to complete #9-13 independently.
Students were made aware of the Chapter 2 Test coming up next Wednesday. A list of skills needed for the test were posted on the board.

Algebra

Students took a quiz. Homework, Practice B lesson 3.6 worksheet. Problems 1-32.

7th Grade Math

Lesson 3-5 and 3-6 on page 571. 3-5 problems 1-27, show your work. 3-6 problems 1-28 use the odd/even rule and show your work on the algebra problems.

Pre-Algebra

Lesson 3-5, pages 139-140. Problems 8-19 and 21-29.

Science 8

All Independent Study work is due today. Students who were completed did a chromatography lab and DNA origami.

Literature 8

We began watching "And Then There Were None" today.

Social Studies 8

Lots to do in Social Studies today! First - Mexico/Latin America/South America MAP QUIZ. Students should have been studying over testing this week. We also had the Chapter 7 note check, and reviewed for the Chapter 7 QUIZ which is on Monday. Finally, students were to complete the Chapter 7 review activity and turn it in during class. Reviews not turned in today will be counted as late.
