Social Studies 8

Autobiography papers were due today. Some students have been experiencing technical difficulties when it comes to retrieving their papers out of their email accounts. Students were advised to try to email their papers directly to me (kfrancoeur@palmyra.k12.wi.us) if this problem applies to them. Papers submitted electronically tonight or tomorrow morning before school will not be marked late.
We began Chapter 16 - The Civil War by taking notes on section 1. Students were reminded that it is their responsibility to read the assigned sections since there is a lot more information in the book than in the notes.
The Chapter 16 test will be next Wednesday, April 23. Students will have plenty of time at the end of class to complete assignments and study each section as we go through it. Again, this is the student's responsibility to take advantage of this time.
For this chapter, homework assignments will be graded (receive a percentage), but those students who complete the homework and turn it in on time can also earn themselves extra credit for the test. Late assignments will still be graded, but will not count for extra credit. Students who do not complete assignments will recieve "0" grades in the homework section of the gradebook.
Today's assignment: Read Chapter 16, Section 1 (p. 510-515) Complete Section 1 Worksheet
