Vocational Education -8th grade-

Social Studies 8

We finished the lecture about U.S. History from the Civil War to WWI today by talking about the Spanish American War and the Panama Canal. Students were then introduced to our project that will take us into spring break. Students were allowed to choose their own groups, or work individually to research and present any topic presented in the lecture. Students will give a more in-depth look at any of the topics addressed. Students are also allowe to choose their presentation method - examples were newscasts, talk shows, skits, or even interpretive dance. Students were encouraged to be as creative as possible when planning their presentations.
Tomorrow is the only day students will have in the computer lab for additional research. Thursday and Friday will be work days, and presentations will be next week.
