Science 8

Welcome back! We discussed another section of the handbook in our agenda...each hour a different section. I passed out a classroom procedure sheet and explained our class routine with the students.

Literature 8

Welcome back. Today we discussed a section of the handbook in the agenda and had an introduction to 8th grade Literature. Please cover your textbook!

Social Studies 8

Welcome Back to School!

This semester in social studies students will be learning about World Geography. Students can expect Map Tests (labeling physical features, political units, and knowing countries and capitals), Projects (both group and individual), Quizzes, Videos and study guides, and some homework.

Most assignments will be in-class assignments - rarely will there be a take-home assignment. Most of the "homework" assigned will be studying in preparation for the map tests. We will also review for map tests daily in class.

Students were made aware of grading procedures, classroom expectations, and the fact that Ms. Francoeur (the meanest teacher in the middle school) will not be giving hall passes this year. Students have been warned/encouraged to bring all their materials to class with them every day.

*7th and 8th hours also discussed that it is the student's responsibility to plan ahead for absences due to sports.

*8th hour students... remember to have your parent sign the discipline policy form and return to your 8th hour teacher as soon as possible.

Applied Math 7

Welcome to Middle School!
Students were introduced to classroom and behavior expectations (no hall passes from Ms. Francoeur) as well as the grading system. We reviewed what students can expect in math this year which includes an assignment every day (some will be completed in class, so not always homework), a test every five lessons, and practice with basic facts.

Applied Math 8

Welcome back!
Many students in this class already know me (Ms. Francoeur) and the classroom expectations. We discussed the differences between what was expected in 7th grade math and what will be expected in 8th grade math. Students will be encouraged to work independently, will learn to manage and use their given work time, know when to ask for help, and know what to ask when asking for help.
Students should expect homework every day and need to come to class with all their materials since Ms. Francoeur is NOT giving out hall passes.
