Family and Consumer Education

All 7th graders should be studying their cooking vocabulary, abbreviations and equivalents sheets. They will need to pass a test on these for them to work in the kitchens each week.
Learning this information early will make for a positive and fun ending to the semester. They should also have comprehensive notes on all six of the nutrients; carbohydrates, fats, protein, vitamins, minerals, and water. They will also be tested on their knowledge of this information.
