Students took Mid-chapter 5 test today. No homework.

8th gr. Spanish FLEX

We went over the assignment of 4 sentences about the class schedule. We played a game in order to practice "how to tell time" in Spanish. No homework assignment....

Science 8

Chapter 4.3 review was graded. We also prepared for Science Showcase...answering any questions. The chapter 4 test will be next Thursday. We reviewed briefly today as a group. Vocabulary key terms can be defined for extra credit...due by Wednesday at the start of class to earn extra credit! All Enrichment worksheets (brown extra credit) are due Thursday.

Literature 8

First Hour: The book is finished. The quiz was taken...no homework. We will watch the video on Monday/Tuesday.

Second Hour: Chapters 13-14 were listened to and discussed.

Health 7

We discussed pregnancy and child birth in class today.

Health 8

Assignment is to Google: Body Mass Index Calculator. Use a calculator to find your BMI. Remember, you must know your height and weight to use the calculator.

7th grade Family and Consumer Education

Students will be taking their Nutrition and Food Preparation final test
on Tuesday and Wednesday, January 19 & 20. The students have prepared
all quarter for this and have notes and hand-outs they should be studying.
All students can get extra points by helping out at home and preparing a meal
for their family. They should then bring in a note, signed by a parent,
that tells what they did.

Science 7

We completed Soil Conservation in class, and corrected the 2.3 GRS.
Remember Chapter 2 TEST is on Wednesday 1-20-10. Also, any missing work (late, absent, etc.) needs to be turned in Wednesday to be counted for the quarter/semester.

7th Grade Math (Moran)

Lesson 5-8 (pages 227-231) #'s 13-49, 54-55, 58-64.
Test Tuesday 1-19-10
Remember, Monday after school is the last time you can schedule a retake for your Chapter 5 Mid-Chapter Test/Quiz. The two grades will be averaged together.

Social Studies 8

Students had the opportunity to compare their Australia and Friends map with the map on the overhead to make sure they had everything labeled correctly. Students are responsible for studying for the Australia Map Test (January 20) on their own.
Review of Chapter 29, Section 1.
Read and discussed Chapter 29, Section 2. Students were given a study guide to complete and turn in before the end of the hour.
