Science 7

As a class, we completed our discussions on the Water in the Atmosphere - during which we talked about the water cycle, humidity and relative humidity, and various types of cloud formations.

Students shared their projects today in class and were able to hear about the different choices that they had not performed. We also looked online at the importance of clean groundwater and how that affects us here in Wisconsin.

Finally, some classes had a few extra minutes and we played the Droplet Game. Students had to answer questions about the water cycle in order to play a game that moved "droplet" through the various stages of the water cycle. Many students asked for the link, so this is where to find it:

You do not have to download the game, you can just play it online.

The only homework students will have is if they did not finish the tic-tac-toe assignment that was given on Monday.

Have a great weekend....Make good choices!

Social Studies 7

Today in class, we continued with our learning of sociology. The students completed their assignment from the 4th to 9th readings in our book.

Literature 8

Our novel is completed. We reviewed the book today. Students were encouraged to make sure all clues and information is filled in on the "Character Chart" They will be allowed to use the chart as notes on the test Monday!

Science 8

All students saw their quarter grades. The class was given an article titled "Why Leaves Change Color" to read alone or with a partner and complete a note/outline assignment. They had the entire class period to finish. Only those who didn't finish have homework.

This article ties in with our chapter two...starting Monday!

Pre-Algebra

Students took mid-chapter 3 test and quiz. No homework.

7th Grade Math

Mid chapter practice page 116, problems 1-16. Page 570, lesson 3-2 problems 2-22 even and lesson 3-3, problems 2-24 even.

Algebra

Students took mid-chapte 3 test. No homework.

Applied Math 7

Today we corrected the Test 5 Review. The remainder of the hour was given for students to STUDY for the math test on Monday. On the last test, the highest grade received was a 90%. Considering that the test review is merely a different form of the test that will be given, there is no reason why anyone should be getting below a B.

Applied Math 8

Box and Whisker Plots - This is a difficult task for many students, but they have all the information necessary in their books and notes to successfully complete the assignment.
Assignment: p. 82 #3-13 due Monday

Social Studies 8

Today we discussed Chapter 7, Sections 1-2, about the physical geography of Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean Islands, and South America. The discussion included landforms, climates, and vegetation of these areas.

Students were given back their maps and were made aware that it is their responsibility to correct anything labeled incorrectly, and also to begin studying these maps (The map quiz is next Friday). Chapter 6 tests were returned, and the First Quarter grade sheet was passed around so students know their final quarter grade in social studies.

Today's assignment: Read Sections 3-4 and complete the study guide... if students don't get it all done today, we will finish as a class on Monday - however, students were encouraged to attempt completing both in class today.
