7th grade math

Students work on circle circumference activities. Homework: Lesson 6-9, page 277. Problems 11-23 and 25-31. Extra credit is problem 24. Chapter 6 test and quiz on Friday.

Pre-Algebra

Went over line and rotational symmetry. Homework is Lesson 6-6, pages 288.-289. Problems 7-18, and 23-26.

Algebra

Lesson 7.4 part 2. Pages 422-424. Problems 31,33,39,43,47-51,55,61-65. Mid-chapter test on Friday.

Social Studies 7

Today students viewed a video that described how to do research using the internet.

Science 7

Igneous rocks were discussed today in class. Students should be able to observe an igneous rock, tell whether it came from magma or lava, explain whether it is intrusive or extrusive and describe whether it is high or low in silica.

Literature 8

Oops...I missed Monday's blog...We began reading The Pigman and compared the two main characters. No homework.

Today we read chapters 3-5 together in class. The students need to finish the last part of chapter 5 for Wednesday.

Science 8

Oops...I missed Monday's blog...Introduction to viruses video and discussion. No homework.

Today we continued our virus discussion and learned about our white blood cells/defense system. The students were given a reading/question assignment to complete.

Applied Math

Lesson 46: Dividing a Decimal Number by a Whole Number
Students worked in groups to teach one another the rules for dividing with decimals.
Assignment: p. 212-214 evens

Graded tests were returned today and students with a failing grade (69% or lower) were given the option to make corrections for half credit. Students who do not return corrected tests tomorrow will not be given credit.

Social Studies 8

Students finished taking notes for Ch. 3 Sec. 1 - The Southern Colonies and were given an assignment to help them review for tomorrow's quiz.
Assignment: Vocab Worksheet and p. 77 #1-5 (due tomorrow). Study for a Quiz!
