Literature 8

Today we discussed Dialect. The students listened to a folktale told with a southern drawl. Literary Technique packet work time was provided.

Science 8

We corrected Chapter 1.3 review assignment "Why Study Science?" and discussed careers in science. Assignment is a crossword dealing with careers in the science field. The students will have to look outside of the text (Internet, encyclopedia, dictionary, etc.) to complete this assignment.

Science 7


Today student continued to work on the measurement lab. They had an opportunity to work together as a team to accomplish a common goal and to work on accuracy. Most students enjoyed the hands on work and worked well.

I also returned the GRS 1.1 that was turned in last week. All corrections are due tomorrow. We are moving on to air mass and density tomorrow.

Algebra

Lesson 1.5 Part 2. Pages 36-38. Problems 40-48 even, 49-57, and quiz 2 1-13. Quiz tomorrow.

7th Grade Math

Lesson 1-6, pages 32-33. Problems 11-40.

Pre-Algebra

Lesson 1-6, pages 37-38. Problems 15-60 and 67-72.

Applied Math 7

Lesson 5: Factors and Divisibility
Assignment: Problem Set 5 #1-16, #1-17 odds only

Applied Math 8

Lesson 1-4: Algebra - Variables and Expressions
Assignment: Reading to Learn/ Study Guide Worksheet

Langauge Arts - 8 (9/15-9/19)

This week remember to work on and study your vocabulary packet 23, dealing with the root "pel". The packet will be due Wednesday and the quiz is on Thursday.

On Monday and Tuesday we are working in groups to create different aspects of society. The presentations will begin Tuesday and go into Wednesday.

Wednesday everyone will receive a copy of The Giver, a reading schedule, and a study guide.

Friday is our weekly library time for free-reading; library books are due September 26th.

Social Studies 8

Review of Section 2. The Chapter 2 Test is currently scheduled for this Friday.
Chapter 1 Tests were handed back. Grades are also posted on Family Access.
Assignment: Read Section 3 (p. 41-47) and complete the Section 3 study guide. Know the 4 vegetation regions and be able to describe them for the test!!
