Science 7

We continued our discussion about the atmosphere and its components. Students completed their KWL notes. They also received a GRS for section 1.1. It is due tomorrow, they had time to work on it in class to complete most of it. Remember, Making Connections is due at the beginning of class on FRIDAY.

Algebra

Reviewed Algebra equations and inequalities. Homework: Lesson 1.4, pages 27-30. Problems 14-54 even and 56-76 all. Mid-chapter test and notes on Friday.

7th Grade Math

Students are working with Algebra equations, finding solutions for the variable. They need to recite the equation mentally to find their solution. Homework: Lesson 1-5, pages 26-27. Problems 14-40 and 42-46. Mid-chapter test, quiz, and notes on Friday.

Pre-Algebra

Students learned how to subtract positive and negative integers. The key concept that was taught today is the foundation on which your son or daughter will be working with throughout the school year. Please, make sure you go over their homework to see that they understand how to add and subtract integers. Homework: Lesson 1-5, pages 30-31. Problems 12-45 and 48-53. Mid-chapter test, quiz, and notes on Friday.

Literature 8

Tuesday we shared our "character descriptions". Today we discussed "Conflict" and worked on it in our Literary Technique packet. We started reading a short Science Fiction story called Contagion in class.

Science 8

We worked to test 8 "mystery powders in class on Tuesday and finished up today. The students guessed and then found out the true identify of the powders. Thursday they will use what they have learned about their physical and chemical properties to identify a mystery mixture.
Quiz on science skills and controlled experiments is on Thursday as well.

Social Studies 8

Chapter 1 Test today. Graded tests will be returned to students after all students have completed their tests. Grades will be posted on Skyward starting either late today or early tomorrow.
Students who have been absent or were absent today will need to make arrangements to make up the test either before school, during lunch, or after school. Classtime cannot be used to make up the test due to an absence.
Assignment: Read Chapter 2, Section 1 (p. 24-33) and complete the Study Guide
