Science 8

All M-n-M data is due today. I provided today as a work day for those students who were not completed with all of their work. A metric practice assignment was also given for homework.

6th hour was interrupted by an assembly so they were given until Tuesday to complete all graphs. The metric measurement assignment is still due on Tuesday for them as well.

Literature 8

We read most of Part II of "Flowers for Algernon" in class. The students were asked to finish reading it for Tuesday.

Health 7

Students were introduced to "I-messages" . Each student received a worksheet with several situations in which they had to write an "I-message" as a response to handling anger. Students were challenged to use an "I-message" before the next class period when they are confronted with a situation that makes them angry.
Students were given two extra-credit puzzles to work on in class.

Health 8

REad pp. 98-102. Students received an extra credit worksheet with two puzzles, one dealing with the muscles and the other with the skeletal system.
Students should continues studying all notes and diagrams.

Science 7

Students began to brainstorm and come up with various ideas of creating a flying contraption (like a kite), that can sustain flight. Students are in groups, free to bring in any "junk" from home. I DO NOT want students to go and buy materials, this is an opportunity for them to use what material they have to create. There will be no fire, fireworks, fuse lighting, etc. Students must work with group at school, no pre-constructed materials unless ok'd by me.
We will not only try flight but also to take wind measurements with our creations. The imagination is key in this project :)
