7th Grade Math

Lesson 10-4, pages 430-431. Problems 8-24 and 27-32. Mid-chapter test, quiz and notes on Friday.

Pre-Algebra

Lesson 11-4, pages 528-529. Problems 10-23 and 30-36. Mid-chapter test, quiz, and notes on Wednesday.

Algebra

Lesson 9.4, pages 529-531. Problems 18-44 even, 52, 57, 65, and 72-82 even. Test, quiz and notes on Wednesday.

Applied Math 7

Lesson 85: Circumference and Pi
Lesson 85 was completed together in class. Students should have shown work and submitted their worksheets before leaving. Students will not recieve points on problems that do not have work shown since all the work was shown on the overhead.

Science 8

A review of chapter 5 so far...
Seed Plants, Gymnosperms & Angiosperms

We also took notes on 5.4 tropisms and had a review assignment.

Literature 8

Each hour started a new book. The assignments vary for each book and will sometimes vary by the class period.

Language Arts - 8 (4/20-4/24)

This week we are focusing on organizing and typing our rough drafts for the Hispanic American research unit. Some upcoming deadlines are:

Monday, May 4th - Final due
Tuesday, May 5th - Speeches begin

Social Studies 8

Today we discussed background information on the causes of WWI including the rise of nationalism, militarism, imperialism, and the formation of secret alliances.
Students have a four-part homework assignment - (1) list the tensions in Europe prior to WWI *this was done in class,* (2) list the countries involved in the two main alliances - the Central Powers and the Allied Powers, (3) color a map and make a key showing the locations of the Central Powers and Allied Powers, and finally (4) write a paragraph explaining the benefits and risks of forming alliances between countries *discussed in class.*
