English/Lit 7

Students worked on evaluating different types of technical writing as they prepare to begin writing their own. There will be a substitute tomorrow as I am going in for knee surgery; however, the students understand they will be following a planning guide tomorrow and beginning to compose their rough draft in class. I'm excited for these; some of the topics are highly entertaining!

Literature -- We filled out an anticipation guide as we prepare to read Freak the Mighty. Because of the fact that there is a substitute tomorrow, students will begin reading the novel and filling out a study guide with the first few chapters. We will have time to discuss these when I return.

Literature 8

We discussed the plot line for The Pigman. The book test is tomorrow.

Science 8

We reviewed Viruses and Bacteria with a group activity using concept maps. The students were assigned Pages 69-70 problems 1-20. Page 71 problems 1-5 for extra credit.

A review of the "History" Unit began today, with students taking notes.
