Social Studies 8

Good reviews were left by the substitute yesterday regarding behavior. Every attempt will be made to have test scores available on Monday.

Today we discussed Chapter 5, Section 1 and talked about the 4 regions of the United States: The Northeast, the Midwest, the South, and the West. We reviewed important landforms, the climate, and the vegetation in each region.

Assignment: The Chapter 5 Outline Map (The United States). Students have a number of states, cities, bodies of water, and landforms to label. Also there are a few questions to answer. Students should label in PENCIL.

On Monday, we will correct the maps - then they can be used to study for the United States map quiz. The quiz will look exactly like the outline map in the assignment, but will only require students to label 10 places or features.

Students were allowed to borrow an atlas for the weekend if class time did not permit them to finish. This assignment is due on Monday.
