Algebra

Students learned which of the three methods of solving a linear system to use on today's homework. Lesson 7.4 Part 1, pages 421-422 problems 14-44 even.

7th Grade Math

Went over perimeter and area with the students. Homework: Lesson 6-8, pages 272-273 problems 8-28 and 33-39. Chapter 6 test on Friday.

Pre-Algebra

Students took a mid-chapter 6 test and quiz. No homework!

Health 7

This week at a glance:
2/11-12: Students were introduced to typical communication barriers through an activity. They took notes on communication barriers and steps to overcoming barriers. Completed Pass Right Pass Left worksheet in class.
2/13-14: Students discussed emotions and how they can affect the communication process. Focus was on verbal cues matching body language and tone of voice. Students completed Defining Emotions worksheet in class.
2/15: Students viewed the first segment of a video series which deals with anger management. Focus was on anger cues. Students completed Is it really anger? worksheet in class.

Health 8

Students should have turned in their semester Health Goal Action Plan which should be signed by a parent. Students should be implementing steps they outlined in their action plan into daily living. They should periodically be touching base with their accountability partners.

2/13-14: Checking an unconscious victim. No assignment.
2/15: Breathing Emergencies and the Conscious Choking Adult. No assignment.

English/Literature 7

English -
We began our big research unit in the IMC today! Students are to come to social studies and language arts class with their pink packet each and every day!

Literature -
We had a discussion about the short story, "Broken Chain." Students received a study guide that will help them when we have a quiz on characterization late next week.
Please encourage your student to use time wisely in this class. I can't emphasize enough that it is important to complete work thoughtfully and thoroughly. Students are already falling behind and have not completed work!

Social Studies 7

Students selected topics for the history research paper. All requirements and rules were distributed in a packet. A new updated timeline for the project will be distributed to reflect the snow days incurred last week.

Science 7

Students took part in a Rock Identification lab today! There was no assignment.

Applied Math

Test 9 today.
Extra Credit was available.

Social Studies 8

We watched an A&E Biography about Pocahontas. Students were to complete a study guide while watching the video. Study Guides were due at the end of the hour. Participation points will be received by students who followed the directions to complete and turn in the study guide.
