We discussed the key concepts to Chapter 4.1 today taking a few notes on the back of a reading assignment. We read the article together but many students may need to finish the questions as homework. Monday we defined our vocabulary from 4.1 and I put current grades in the agendas.

Literature 7

I just wanted to leave a quick note regarding literature grades in Skyward:

If you have been checking literature grades and they seem extremely low, rest assured it is because I have not entered some of the larger assignments the students have been working on. Right now, the students' grades are merely a reflection of whatever they may have scored on their reading quizzes in class. This is not a reflection of what the grades will be once the other assignments are scored and entered over Thanksgiving break.

Thanks!

The goal being that each response be spectacular due to the orginial post plus the constructive comments from classmates. Students were given starting examples of how to comment constructively such as "I would add the following to this post..." or "I disagree with this post because..." or "I think this is a good post because..." Students were challenged to come up with more to say than something like "I disagree with this post because it is wrong" and to instead add or correct information to make a quality response to the posted question.
