7th Grade Math-Mr.Smith
2-6 Study Guide worksheets. Do the first sheet, front and back. Second sheet (word problems and enrichment) is extra credit.
8th gr. Spanish FLEX
Today the students read their sentences in which they described their friends. We played a game using the vocabulary (adjectives) from pages 48 and 49. No homework!

Today students took a quiz and mid-chapter test on Chapter 2, lessons 1-4

Today we started our flying contraption lab!! We will continue on Monday, so if the students made and changes to their initial plan, they may be bringing in different materials to work with. I've seen some interesting uses of wire, Styrofoam and bags today:)

Prefix Quiz on A-D today. The students were assigned a new list..."E" due next Friday.

The students took a quiz on chapters 1-8 today. They should have turned in the vocabulary (chapters 6-7) assignment assigned yesterday & we began reading chapter 9...no homework!
Social Studies 8
Review of South America's physical features, countries, and capitals. The map test is next Friday.
Computer lab time today - students were to complete government summaries and print, as well as type population density and economic analyses and print. Remaining time could be spent working on rough drafts of culture paragraphs, or, if all those were complete, beginning to type culture paragraphs.

Science 8
Our new books were distributed: Cells and Heredity. The students worked on developing a time line on the development of the Cell Theory. This will be due tomorrow...after more work time in class.

We read chapter 8 today. Study questions were discussed and character charts were added to...
A quiz on Chapter 1-8 is tomorrow. The students will be allowed to use their character charts on the quiz. A vocabulary assignment was also given due by the end of class tomorrow.
Algebra
Lesson 2.7, pages 111-113. Problems 15-56even, and 58-63, 72, 73, 75, 80, 85, 90, 95, and 100.

Science 7
Today we corrected and talked about Chapter 2, Section 1 - Energy in Earth's Atmosphere. We went over again the main points, such as wavelength, infrared light, UV light, electromagnetic radiation, etc. The students had the opportunity to make corrections to the GRS, if they chose, during class today.
Students also met in their groups to discuss their flying contraption(s). The students have been talking about this project, and have assigned items that are being brought in. We will start this tomorrow. I do have some cardboard, plastic bags, paper, wire hangers, and Styrofoam.
