7/8 Choir

We are beginning Solo and Ensemble rehearsals during half choir. All choir students are expected to bring homework/study materials to half choir (Day B) so that each student or performing group has the opportunity to prepare. Solo and Ensemble is on Saturday, April 5 and all choral students are strongly urged to participate. If a student chooses not to participate in the festival, he/she must at least learn a piece from the solo and ensemble required repertoire. Many students have already coordinated a small ensemble and have selected the piece they are performing. Other students are still waiting to pick a piece and that will be accomplished by the end of January. If a student is in both band and choir, there will be a schedule posted for rehearsals before or after school for students that are not in choir every day. On full choir days (Day A), we will be rehearsing music for our next concert on March 3 and our festival pieces. You will be receiving more information about PEMS' participation in WSMA Solo and Ensemble festival on Friday, April 4. This will be the first time that our Middle School choir has participated in the large ensemble portion of the festival which is very exciting.
