Second Semester in Social Studies brings the switch to U.S. History. The classroom has been rearranged to allow for group work and small group discussions. Students were informed that participation, discussions, and short writing responses are going to be large parts of their grade this semester, so it's important to be in class, and to pay attention to what's going on. Students will also need to make sure that they always bring something to write with, and something to write on every day. Textbooks will be distributed later in the week, once they are needed, because they are heavy!

Today, students viewed a video that summarized the Era of Colonization in the United States. Students were given a study guide on which to take notes. A discussion will follow the video... possibly starting today, but most likely continuing in to tomorrow.
