The format of Social Studies has changed for 2nd Semester. We are now studying U.S. History instead of World Geography. Also, the style of instruction is different in order to prepare students to be successful in high school social studies classes. There will be notes. A lot of notes. We have a lot of material to cover in a short amount of time. Homework is occurring much more regularly. Academic and behavioral standards have been raised for this semester as well. Students are expected to be turing in quality assignments. Neatness and spelling will always count for part of a grade. There is no excuse for late work since students each have their own book that they can take home to help them finish their homework. Students were made aware of these changes on the first day of the semester.
Unfortunately, there are some students who will be starting the semester with a low percentage because they have not completed their homework, or they did not follow the directions as written on the homework assignments.
Today we talked about how the Colonial Rebellion turned into a Revolution.
